Activity within the framework of EntreActos, the programme of experimental actions and activations during the period between exhibitions, promoted by the Santa Mònica Spaces Guild.
With the participation of Karen Lugo (dancer), Albert Cases (singer), Anna Colom (singer), Cristina Candela (dancer), Anna Solanilla (visuals)
Cristina Candela: dancer, audiovisual creator, performer and Mónica. Born in Madrid, she has developed her career as a dancer in Barcelona where she has worked in tablaos such as Tarantos, el palacio del flamenco or el patio andaluz. As a video maker her works have been selected in festivals such as Miami screendance fest, festival de CineDanza de la ciudad de Módena or seismes in Barcelona. As a performer she premiered her piece “NANA” in November 2021 in Barcelona.
Anna Solanilla: Visual artist and set designer. She has carried out different projects and exhibitions in the field of visual and performing arts. Her current projects focus on experimentation with digital arts applied to the stage and installation devices. She teaches at the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático (ESAD) about analogue and digital projects and systems of representation. She has also been deputy director and head of masters' courses. PhD in History of Scenography from the University of Barcelona. Graduate in Fine Arts and Dramatic Art, specialising in Scenography (Institut del Teatre).
Pedro Bennaton: Resident and working in Barcelona, since 2018, born in London, PhD in Theatre, co-founder of ERRO Group in 2001, in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil. He is a director, researcher, playwright and actor, with experience in Arts and Theatre, and emphasis on Urban Intervention and Performance, working mainly on the following themes: street theatre, urban space, participation, invasion, observation, invisibility and displacement. Since 2021 he has participated as a guest lecturer in the Jornades de Recerca Artística de la Universitat de Fontys, and since 2022 he has been artist in residence at the Santa Mònica arts centre.
Karen Lugo: Mexican dancer and choreographer, knowledgeable and respectful of tradition. Her unique and personal style has led her to collaborate with artists such as Pepe Habichuela, Jorge Pardo, Chano Domínguez, Javier Colina, Richard Bona, Perico Sambeat, Carles Benavent and Clara Peya among many others. Her latest show is entitled "Golpe de Tierra", nominated for the Premios de la Crítica de Artes Escénicas, in the category of best solo show. She is currently participating as choreographer and performer in the show "Caminos", by Juan Gómez Chicuelo and "CAYANA" by Anna Colom. In just a few months she will premiere "Tres Piezas" a show that she co-directs with the dancer Jose Maldonado.
Albert Cases: He is a guy born in Barcelona who likes to sing and various other things.
Anna Colom: Musician, singer and composer, with a degree in Flamenco Singing from the ESMUC (Escuela Superior de Música de Catalunya) and trained at the Fundación Cristina Heeren de Arte Flamenco in Seville, she has a long career in theatres and tablaos in Barcelona, Madrid and Andalusia. She has toured and performed in more than twenty countries. In recent years she has worked as a backing vocalist on the tour of Rosalia's El Mal Querer, and has performed and/or recorded with artists such as Juan Gómez Chicuelo, La Tana, Sílvia Pérez Cruz, Las Migas, Edmon Colomer, Filarmónica de Oviedo, Natacha Atlas, Rafael Lechowski, Alfonso de Vilallonga, etc. After years of participating in many different musical projects, she has just released her first album, "CAYANA", a tribute to the roots music that has influenced flamenco throughout history.
