Observacions Situades by the Sala de Santa Mònica team will be installed, by means of small, minor stickers, in very unlikely places in the centre to make public their own specific observations.

Through the Obervacions Situades, making use of ethnographic, invisibility and observation methodologies, the Santa Mònica's Sala team has collected during the months of February and March their spontaneous perceptions of one or more people from the Santa Mònica's audience, the specific space of this observation, with their sensations and situations experienced by a very specific part of the large audience of the centre. The exercise of Observation comes from Bennaton's work in ERRO Grupo, from 2007, also in his thesis "Teatro de Situaciones" (2020) in the academic field, but now and always gaining other directions, extensions and expanding, through his experiences made in the Gremio de Espacios in the activities at the Santa Mònica in the seasons 2022/2023 and 2023/2024. Last but not least, although it is a performative and performative exercise, we do not disseminate it as a performance, it is quite the opposite. Or at least it tries to be the opposite, as it is more a pre-study than a performance. A pre-performance research. In this way, some observations of the Sala team at the Santa Mònica will be installed, through small, minor stickers, in very unlikely places in the centre to make public their own specific observations but, especially, to reveal these places, sometimes minor, as public places in the centre, in addition to its exhibition spaces. It is important to mention that this activity is also integrated in a workshop with the same team on presentiality techniques, which are carried out in the guided visits carried out by the team of this arts centre.

EntreActes presupposes proposals in the state of prototypes, interventions, improvised, borderline actions, or meticulously planned situations, experimental, liminal, precarious, minimal, fragile, minor living arts, to be carried out in empty spaces, or rather, to be experienced in exhibition scenarios in a state of dismantling and assembly. This prototype developed by the Gremio de Espacios (Anna Solanilla, Cris Candela and Pedro Bennaton), the EntreActes with their editions, can be two, three or more actions/interventions/situations, connected or not, that take place during part of the time, and space, between exhibitions.

The Observacions Situades is a performative prototype of a methodology of visits and study of spaces, a performative activity of investigation of space done in different ways inside and outside the Santa Mònica from September 2022 until today. Last but not least, although it is a performative and performative exercise, we do not disseminate it as a performance, it is quite the opposite. Or at least it tries to be the opposite, as it is more a preliminary study than a performance. A pre-performance research.

The focus of transmediality and the displacement of the Guild of Spaces, in general terms, is situated between performance, ethnographic methodologies and analogue and digital devices. The main objective of the guild during these months of residency is to develop and experiment with the practice of "site visit methodology" (Situationist International; Hal Foster; Lawrenz, Keiser and Lavoie; Ulf Hannerz; Ricardo Basbaum), deploying variations of observation and simultaneously enabling situations/devices that experiment in relation to how the Santa Mònica building and its surroundings are recognised.

Miwon Kwon's concepts of site-specific and/or site-specificity propose letting the space intervene directly in the results of an investigation and creation of artistic situations. The main axis of the proposals of the Observacions Situades are physical and visual displacements based on ethnographic observations, in order to direct the critical imagination towards the conception of devices and their activators, by means of performative and installation strategies of all kinds.

Activity in the framework of EntreActes#2, the programme of proposals, prototypes and processes that emerge during the period between exhibitions, promoted by the Spaces Guild of Santa Mònica.

By the Spaces Guild 23/24.

With the participation of Pedro Bennaton, Guild of Spaces, and the collaboration of the Santa Mònica's exhibition room team.
