Spaces Guild

Following the sense of encounter and collaboration of the artistic residency, the proposal of the Spaces Guild is based on experimenting with the idea of displacement between the internal and external spaces of the Santa Mònica and vice versa. The focus of the artistic research lies in finding performative strategies to diminish or relativise the visible and invisible distance between the Santa Mònica and its surroundings. Displacement, then, is tackled both from a geometric, functional dimension and from an intangible dimension related to the audience's experience and memory. The transmediality of the Spaces Guild, in general terms, is situated between ethnographic methodologies, performance and the installation of site-specific analogue and digital devices. From the guild we will also open sessions on methods of observation and creation of experimental situations to the rest of the resident artists and the general public.
