Meeting of scale between artists and mediators to redraw the educational fact inside and outside the cultural institutions

What is the task of an educational department in an art centre? What would be the ideal context for arts education and the conditions of its workers? In what way does the art centre have to have a predisposition for education in its management?
The Mòniques of the Education Guild are considering what it means that the Santa Mònica centre doesn't have an Education department and what it means to have one. They have begun an investigation into the different types of relationships and forms that can be found between cultural institutions and the mediation teams that work in each of the centres, drawing up a map of typologies found in Catalonia. In the context of this research, the first working session begins with several professionals from institutions, with and without educational and accessibility departments, to get to know each other, to make visible the different ways of approaching education and their needs. In short, to imagine together the horizons that should be reached so that education is permanently integrated into the art institution as a space for thought and relationship.

Roser Sanjuán: Cultural manager specialized in art education and head of the Servei Educatiu del Centre d'Art la Panera, Lleida.
Berta Solé: She collaborates with the Culture and Science department of Fundació la Caixa, the mediation department of the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona and the Teatre Lliure. She is the coordinator of laCultivadora, an educational project under construction created by the 6 national scenic and musical equipments.
Tonina Cerdà: Head of Public Programs and Education, MACBA, Barcelona.
Montserrat Moliner: member of the management team of La Volta, a cultural project of contemporary creation located in the neighborhood of Sant Narcís, Girona.
Magdalena Garzón: Artist in residence at El Graner, researcher in scenic creation in the field of visual diversity, collaborator with the accessibility and exhibition team of the CCCB.
Elena Blesa: Researcher, artist and mediator. Education and mediation team FASE and Tecla Sala Educational Service, Hospitalet.
Rosa Llop: Researcher, designer, teacher and author. She researches on the agency of collective thinking actions through artistic practices (www.rosallop.com/blog).
