Feminist self-defence workshop
General public
Open and free activity with advance registration by filling in this form
In the framework of Carne Viva we present Defender la casa (Defending the house), a meeting to feel-think-do self-defence.
Defender la casa is a workshop to learn feminist self-defence tools. From the construction of a space of security, trust and intimacy, we will train emotional, psychological and physical aspects. Self-defence is an integral training and a fundamental tool for social transformation. It strengthens our self-esteem, helps us to become aware of the roles that the system assigns us and teaches us to recognise the multiple ways in which we are assaulted on a daily basis.
We will get to know and train our gaze, body, breath and voice, strengthening confidence and listening, both individually and collectively. This meeting will be a starting point to collectively think of strategies and mechanisms for collective empowerment.
Carne Viva is a stable group working on body, discomfort and political imagination for the creation of tools for somatic and emotional healing. One Thursday a month Carne Viva proposes an open activity in the exhibition spaces of Santa Monica to activate a somatic exploration in relation to the contents of the exhibition.

Workshop promoted by the Participation Guild of Santa Mònica
One Thursday a month at 11am, in the exhibition spaces of Santa Mònica, we open Carne Viva for all those who want to connect with matter, flesh and breath.
In these sessions we will establish, through the body, a dialogue with the exhibition Dozing on the accidental provocation.
Carne Viva is born as an initiative of the Participation guild, as part of the actions of a device/space/zone of collective learning to take care of our mental health and meet our senses.
