Francesc Burrull Trio. Francesc Burrull is one of the great names in the Nova Cançó wave and the revival of the Catalan music scene in the sixties. From his role as a composer, arranger and simply as a performer, his footprint can be found in a host of benchmark records, especially in the list of the Concèntric label, where he worked as the musical director. Originally from the world of jazz (he has worked closely with Tete Montoliu), he associated himself with the world of Nova Cançó through Els Setze Jutges and later worked with artists the likes of Lluís Llach, Joan Manuel Serrat, Guillermina Motta, Núria Feliu and La Trinca. In 1992, he won the National Music Prize. In this special concert at Arts Santa Mònica, master Burrull’s piano will revive melodies or musical excerpts that will spirit us back to the Concèntric productions’ moment of creative explosion.
